Our Team
of compassionate professionals specializes in evaluating learning, attention, and social-emotional difficulties in people of all ages.
Consultations
Our integrated consulting services help parents and students develop a broader understanding of academic or social challenges and provide them with the services and resources to succeed. Collaborating closely with parents and referring professionals, we review prior results, determine the effectiveness of services performed, coordinate services among providers, and present a detailed analysis along with a recommended plan of prioritized next steps. If warranted, we will observe the student and/or make referrals to specific outside specialists and recommend appropriate school placement.
At the conclusion of every assessment, our highly trained clinicians and diagnosticians present a detailed written report and recommend an individualized action plan. We also meet with adolescents individually and explain information to them directly, discussing recommendations and answering questions. Subsequent services can include conferences with school staff, referrals to tutors and outside specialists, and on-going coordination among individuals working with the client. We coach parents and students to work successfully with schools. We can also serve as “team captains.” Re-evaluations are often suggested to measure progress, adjust accommodations and update recommendations.
Consultations include:
- Reviewing academic progress and determining need for further evaluation
- Interpreting testing and evaluation results
- Observing student in classroom setting
- Developing an action plan for parents/student and school
- Participating in school conferences/IEP meetings
- Identifying appropriate referrals to address academic issues/emotional disorders
- Referral to specific tutors and other specialists (including tutors, speech pathologists/therapist, educational consultant, ADHD coach, behavior specialist, and physicians)

ADHD / Executive Dysfunction
ADHD, also known as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, is a common neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults. It is characterized by difficulties in paying attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which can significantly impact daily functioning and academic performance.
Additionally, Executive Dysfunction refers to difficulties in the executive functioning skills, such as organization, planning, time management, and problem-solving, which are often seen in individuals with ADHD.
In cases where there is a question about ADHD and/or Executive Dysfunction and there is no need for school-based interventions, KSA will conduct an abbreviated assessment to determine whether a student meets criteria for ADHD or Executive Dysfunction. This assessment is useful for generating treatment recommendations and can serve as documentation of the ADHD diagnosis for physician prescribing purposes.
